Submission structure.
The festival has a seasonal and annual structure.
Every season, selected winners will compete in the annual event, where participants have the chance to win the grand prize.
First, the judges will privately review the submitted materials, and subsequently, they will announce the winners. The winning projects will then be introduced to our website and social media, receiving extensive promotion.
Rules & Terms
Promotional Communications:
By submitting your work, you agree to receive promotional emails from the Kraken International Film Festival and its partners. This includes updates about the festival and relevant opportunities.
Submission Frequency:
Filmmakers can submit their work as many times as desired, providing opportunities for participation.
By submitting your film, you agree to allow the festival to use excerpts from your project, including trailers, teasers, posters, director's bio / part of your film's overview, and stills, for promotional purposes. All films must include English subtitles.
- The Entrant/s submitting the film must hold all legal rights for the submission, including the music.
- Entry fees can't be refunded.
- Only a selection of winning films will be shown at the live event.
- Filmmakers can submit multiple entries, and each entry can be in different categories.
- Non-English language produced films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.
- Scripts must be in English or Italian.
- All seasonal winners are automatically selected for the annual competition, not needing to re-sumit.
We do not accept:
- Extremist or propaganda content;
- P*rnographic material;
- Films centered on politics or endorsing a specific political agenda;
- Films with hate messages.
